Part cocktail party, part culinary showcase, part interactive cooking exploration, every Stage + Table EAT|DRINK evening features an authentic culinary component (prepared on site, in our open kitchen) + a curated beverage pairing + other interactive components.
IN THE KITCHEN
Chef Thip, with deep family ties to Laos, has been hosting pop up dinners in DTLA for years, is eager to share his family recipes with the Stage + Table community. He’ll be showcasing his:
A trio of mini lettuce wraps: Mieng Kee Leuy – Ground jasmine rice dust puffed up with a sweet and tangy picked ginger broth / Mieng Muang Luang – Puffed sticky rice ground to a paste with traditional fish sauce seasoned with tamarind, lemongrass and kaffir then garnished with slices of lemongrass, pork rind and peanuts / Pun Mieng Pah – Grilled fish topped with Lao fragrant herbs and vegetables, ginger, galangal, lemongrass, cherry tomato and shallots on a bed of vermicelli noodles and topped with a sweet tangy tamarind pineapple sauce.
Khao Niew – Sticky Rice / Thum Mak Hoong – Spicy Shredded and Pounded Papaya Salad / Moke Pah – Steamed Fish in Banana Leaf / Sai Oua – Lao Sausage / Jeow Mak Len – Tomato Dipping Sauce / Khao Thome Kuay – Sweet coconut milk sticky rice with banana wrapped in banana leaf steamed and grilled / Kohk & Sahk – beef and pork jerky
